This is delicious. And very easy. The hardest part is finding stale chocolate croissants at a reasonable price. Fortunately, they are sold stale daily in six-packs at my local Safeway. (That was what the kids call shade.)
Basically, you put a bunch of torn chocolate croissants in an oven safe bowl. Best if these are stale croissants but the ones Safeway sells have worked very well in their “fresh” state. (More shade.)
Then you pour over a heated mixture of cream, milk and sugar slowly so the croissants can soak it all up.
Mine even came out looking quite like the picture in Nigella Lawson’s cookbook which almost never happens. Sometimes I get close, but not this close. I’ve tried adding a little cocoa powder to the cream as it cooks for more chocolate deliciousness, but it’s not really needed. The chocolate croissants are chocolate enough for me and C.J.
